Just a thought

Visiting my local town centre, I saw a retired couple holding hands as they walked along.

As they passed by, I commented on how delightful it was to

see them being so romantic at their age.

The man replied,

“I’ve been holding her hand when we go out for over 30 yrs. I have to.

If I let go, she shops”.

----

We had a satellite dish installed on our roof

And my 22-yr-old son was trying to teach me how to operated the remote.

Since I am not the most tech savvy person, it was not going on well.

After repeating the instructions umpteenth time, he sighed.

“this would be a lot easier if you were 12”.

My 1st week on the job as a graphic artist at a printing company,

I realized that the no-nonsense production manager ran a tight ship.

When I completed one project – a long and wordy brochure – I handed it to her for proofreading.

Soon she slapped it back on my desk with spelling mistakes circled.

In bold red print she commanded,

“Use spell-cheque”

One day at at the supermarket where I worked,

an elderly gent came in and looked around as if trying to find someone.

I approached him and he explained that

he had dropped off his disabled wife b4 parking the car and now

he had no idea where she was.

I told him to come back to me if he didn’t find her.

A few mins later, I saw an old lady on sticks, glancing about.

I rushed over, keen to help.

“Excuse me, M’am” I asked.

“Have you lost your husband?”

She gripped my arm tightly and gazed intently into my eyes.

After a moments silence she said, “Yes, dear, he died two years ago.”

----

I try not to interrupt while my husband is watching

sports on television, when I need to communicate I say,

“ tell me when I can talk”.

One day I gave him the line and continued with my task at hand.

Much, much later I heard him say.

“Tomorrow”.
